But its efficacy also depends on the present bacteria.This antibiotic is effective for most bacteria except for resistant gram-positive bacilli of Staphylococci.

Oxytetracycline, a broad-spectrum antibiotic from the tetracycline family, is derived from the fermented product of Streptomyces rimosus.
